Curb Appeal Masonry is James Sodaro and Barry Viola. The business started with James’s father, and the family has about 40 years of bricklaying behind it. Today we build and repair masonry, install tile and take on home improvement projects across Suffolk County.

Masonry

Bricklaying is where the family started. We rebuild steps and stoops, lay patios, pavers and walkways, repair brick and stone, pour concrete and work on chimneys and fireplaces.

Tile is the other half of what we do every week: bathroom floors and walls, showers, kitchen backsplashes and floor tile, set flat, straight and on a proper base.

A family trade, still run by family

James’s father started the business laying brick. He has since retired, and between the generations the family has about 40 years of bricklaying experience. That background is why we care about the parts of a job you never see: the base under a patio, the backer board behind the tile, the way water runs off a step.

Today James Sodaro runs Curb Appeal Masonry and works alongside his partner, Barry Viola. When you call, you talk to the people who will do the work.

What areas do you work in?

We're based in the Islip area and work throughout Suffolk County, Long Island. If you're not sure whether we cover your town, call 631-579-8598 and ask.

What kind of work do you do?

Masonry and tile are our specialties: steps and stoops, patios and pavers, walkways, brick and stone repair, concrete, chimneys and fireplaces, and tile for bathrooms, showers, floors and backsplashes. We also handle bathroom and kitchen remodels, flooring, painting and drywall, and full renovations. The one thing we don’t do is HVAC.

Can I send photos of my project?

Yes. The estimate form lets you attach up to five photos. They help us understand the job before we come out.
