Steps, patios and stonework that last

Steps and stoops, patios, walkways, brick and stone repair, concrete, chimneys and fireplaces. Laying brick is how our family started, and it’s still the work we’re proudest of.

Steps and stoops

Your front steps are the first thing people walk on and the first thing they notice. We repair cracked or loose steps and rebuild stoops that have failed, in brick, stone or stone veneer with solid treads.

  • Loose, cracked or sinking steps
  • Full stoop rebuilds
  • Stone veneer and new treads
  • Landings and back-door steps

Patios, pavers and walkways

A patio lasts as long as what’s under it. We dig out, build and compact the base before a single paver goes down, then finish with clean borders and cuts. We also replace old patios and decks, and lay walkways and driveways.

  • New paver and stone patios
  • Replacing old patios and decks
  • Walkways, paths and stepping stones
  • Borders, inlays and driveways

Brick and stone repair

Crumbling joints, loose brick, cracked stone and sunken areas get worse every winter on Long Island. Here, a failing brick planter and broken bluestone by a side door became a new landing with a floor drain.

  • Repointing and loose brick
  • Cracked or broken stone
  • Retaining and planter walls
  • Sunken or uneven areas

Chimneys and fireplaces

From chimney masonry repairs outside to refacing a fireplace inside in stone or brick.

Concrete work

We do concrete work for walks, pads and steps, and we’ll help you weigh concrete against pavers or stone for your project.

Masonry questions

Do you repair existing steps, or only build new ones?

Both. Some stoops only need loose brick or stone reset and joints repointed. Others have failed underneath and need to be rebuilt. We’ll tell you which one we think yours needs and why.

Can you match my existing brick?

We try to. Older brick can be hard to find, so we’ll look at what you have and talk through the closest options before any work starts.

Do you do concrete as well as pavers?

Yes. We do concrete work along with pavers, brick and natural stone, and we can talk through which material fits the job and your budget.

Do you work on chimneys?

Yes, we handle chimney and fireplace masonry. Call and describe what you’re seeing, such as loose brick, cracked mortar or a damaged crown, and we’ll come take a look.
